Launch 2 Data Readiness Update

Launch 2 Data Readiness Update

March 08, 2024

As of March 8, the majority of data from Classic SIS has been successfully synchronized with Workday. During this process, and as expected, some data quality issues emerged, most of which have been promptly addressed and resolved. Currently, there is a subset of data with quality concerns, which requires more time for the IRP Student team to address and resolve.

Known Issue Updated – March 14 with updated resolution status

Who is impacted?

  • Users in operational units (advising offices, Enrolment Services and G+PS/CoGS staff on both campuses) who are involved in dual-entry tasks
  • Users who look up student records in Workday Student where the student(s) is (are) on the list of impacted records. This includes users in various advising offices, ES, and G+PS/CoGS.

What is the impact?

  • Activities for 2023W and 2024S will continue in Classic SIS.
  • Dual entry of data and work on academic requirements overrides in Workday Student will proceed as planned. It is recommended that the dual-entry work is sequenced so that impacted student records are worked on after the data issues resolution is in place.

What is the issue status?

As of March 13, impacted faculties and units have received direct communication regarding the specifics of the known issues and the student records involved. This information has been provided to the Primary Transition Leads (PTL) with the request to share it with their units.

When will it be resolved?

  • The IRP team is working to resolve most of these issues by the end of March. While some issues may take longer, we are committed to addressing them over the next 2-3 weeks
  • Ongoing updates regarding data quality issues and resolutions will be posted at the following link in the future hxxps://confluence.it.ubc.ca/display/IRPTCM/Known+Data+Quality+Issues (CWL required)
  • It is anticipated that the known data quality issues will not impact University business operations, including 2024W registration
  • Resolutions are expected well ahead of 24W registration activities

If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to your Primary Transition Lead (PTL).
